The Mummy himself makes a few rude remarks, essentially welcoming us to our impending doom. Along with other press members, I board the ride to see if the experience will live up to the now-extensive hype. Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride is now officially open. There were also some random tween stars that everyone seemed to be excited about. Other stars spotted included Jon Favreau and Thora Birch. In attendance were The Mummy's Brendan Fraser and the Mummy himself, Arnold Vosloo. During the red carpet entry, various stars from Universal films and TV shows walk by, but few stop to talk. This ride has been in development since the first Mummy film hit theaters in 1999, and now it's finally open for the public. And why not? Development of theme park attractions is no small task. Universal has literally rolled out the red carpet to unveil their new ride, treating the attraction's opening like any other Hollywood movie premiere.
